Gear Up for Success: Bike Mechanic Training at LEF
Next cohort is expected to start in early 2025.
This course teaches all the key skills needed for putting bikes together and keeping them in good shape. The program also focuses on being safe, quick, and following the rules of the bike industry.
For 4 weeks, LEF instructor Darren Duke will be guiding you from inside of the fully equipped, 1,300 sqft bike shop at the LEF training centre. You’ll gain hands-on experience from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. while engaging yourself in all aspects of bike mechanic training.
LEF’s BAM program's emphasis on practical learning, coupled with expert guidance, prepares graduates to thrive in the dynamic world of bicycle mechanics.

What you will learn
Bicycle Assembly
Equip your team with the expertise to assemble new bikes out of the box safely, reliably, and efficiently. Our Bicycle Assembly Training provides your employees with the skills to meet industry standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and reducing assembly time.

Disc Brake Servicing
Give your employees the confidence to handle disc brake diagnostics and maintenance. Training covers the fundamentals of identifying issues and safely bleeding mineral oil and DOT fluid brakes. Additionally, participants gain a solid theoretical understanding of mechanical cable-actuated disc brakes.

Servicing Drivetrains
Enhance your employees' knowledge and expertise in drivetrain maintenance. This training focuses on the replacement of chains and cassettes along with derailleur, hanger straightening / shifter adjustments by providing theory and hands-on practices to ensure accurate and efficient servicing for your customers bikes.

Stay ahead of the game with our training on mounting tubeless tires using sealant. Equip your employees with the theory, practical techniques, and sealant application skills necessary to offer this popular service.

Wheel Truing
Elevate your employees' skills with our comprehensive wheel truing practices. Perfect for that new hire, this will help your employee gain the knowledge and theory of spoke replacement, spoke tension, and new bike assembly wheel truing.
