Launch Your Career with this employment program for youth aged 15-30.

The Launch Your Career Program fosters career readiness and workforce integration for those aged 15-30 and are Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Convention Refugees.

  • Between the ages of 15 and 30 years old

  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, convention refugees, or protected persons

  • Out of work for six months or more

  • Out of school

  • Legally entitled to work in Ontario

The program consists of workshops spanning 4 weeks that enhance skills, reveal diverse employment pathways, and facilitate integration into the workforce.

Participants may be eligible for the opportunity to receive an up to 12-week long paid placement to refine skills and gain insights into professional environments.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be:

  • Between the ages of 15 and 30 years old

  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, convention refugees, or protected persons

  • Out of work for six months or more

  • Out of school

  • Legally entitled to work in Ontario

  • Able to commit to four weeks of workshops followed by up to 12 weeks of work placement

Program overview

  • Planning and Coordination

    Meet with a Career Counsellor with expertise in providing youth employment support to discuss your goals and your path to gainful employment.

  • Pre-Employment Activities

    Participate in 4 weeks of pre-employment activities including career development, job search skills, and more.

  • Job Placement / Work Experience

    After the 4 weeks of paid pre-employment activities have been completed, your tailored job search will begin.

  • Career Development

  • Personal Management

  • Job Readiness

  • Employment Related Skills

  • Job Maintenance

  • Networking Skills

You will be paid at minimum wage during these four weeks. 

Other Workshops include:

  • First aid training

  • Customer service

  • Personality dimensions

  • And more

Job Placement / Work Experience

After the 4 weeks of paid pre-employment activities have been completed, your tailored job search will begin. During your 12 weeks of placement, LEF will stay in contact with you and the employer to ensure that everything is working out and that you’re getting the coaching you need to remain successful.
