Ability Work Experience

The program supports self-identified persons with disabilities getting into the workforce by offering enhanced employment services support and paid work experience.

LEF is proud to introduce The Ability Work Experience Program (AWE), which is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities prepare for, find, maintain employment, or become self-employed. The program supports self-identified persons with disabilities getting into the workforce by offering enhanced employment services support and paid work experience.

Program Features: 

  • Build skills and knowledge necessary for personal and workplace success through a wide variety of workshops and coaching 

  • Support during your job search, work experience, and follow-up support with a job coach 

  • Flexible online/in-person sessions 

  • Get financial support (if eligible) and paid for work experience (12 weeks) 

Eligibility

  • Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents or Convention Refugees 

  • Eligible to work in Ontario, and 

  • Self-identifies as living with a disability   

How and when do I get started?

The program is open all year (ongoing intake) and provides flexibility to participants (with accommodation).

  • Assistance with pre=screening and matching compatible individuals

  • Up to 12 weeks of wage incentives

  • Funding for certifications or accommodations required for the job
