Congratulations to the first cohort of LEF's Building Maintenance and Superintendent Training Program!

On August 23rd, a group of 7 students became the first to finish the 6-week intensive training program. Family and friends joined together in celebration as the graduates looked back at their time in the training and reflected on what they found the most challenging and the new skills they learned.

Other Training Programs

Bicycle Assembly and Maintenance (BAM)
Since 2009, LEF has been operating the Weston Wheels bike shop serving the Mount Dennis area at affordable prices. In addition, we have been teaching the community to assemble and repair bicycles through a 4-week intensive program about bike repair as an individual or an employee.
Forklifts
Is your Forklift certification expiring soon, or has it already expired? As per recommendations from CSA B335, Forklift operators should receive retraining certification every three years and you must get re-certified to operate a forklift. This course will refresh your knowledge on one or three types of forklifts: Reach Forklifts, Counter Balance Forklift and Walkie End Riders.
Warehouse Essential Skills
Operating for over 2 decades, LEF's Warehouse Essential Skills program allows you to learn and obtain in-demand certificates including Narrow Aisle Reach, Counter Balance Forklift, Walkie End Rider, WHMIS, First Aid, and more!
Digital Skills
Learn about computers and the Internet with our Computer Skills for Today program. Catering to newcomers, seniors aged 65 and above, as well as those lacking access to hardware, software, or the internet. Learn about mobile devices like phones, learn the essentials of email, the Internet, searching, using government websites, and advance to online shopping and banking.
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015
Be prepared for your job with our WHMIS program. The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015 will teach you the key elements of workplace safety, ranging from the labelling of containers to the provision of material safety data sheets.
Entrepreneurship Program
Learn what you should know as a Newcomer to Canada aspiring to be an entrepreneur. Start with essential aspects of entrepreneurship, from problem solving and collaboration, to getting your business funded and learning effective marketing strategies. Each participant receives personalized one-on-one business coaching. Learn to own and run a business in Canada.
