Newcomer Entrepreneurship Showcase Event 2024
LEF hosted the Newcomer Entrepreneurship Showcase Event on August 6, 2024, to highlight newcomer entrepreneurs, small businesses and local vendors in the Mount Dennis area. Vendors set up booths to sell various items including jewelry, baked goods, and handmade items. Other booths promoted their services such as custom printing and clothing repairs. Service providers such as Access Alliance, Toronto Small Business Enterprise Centre (City of Toronto) and Bank of Montreal joined to provide information and support to newcomers looking to start or improve their business prospects. Translation support was provided for Spanish speakers by Lisette Teran. Many vendors were participants in LEF’s Newcomer Entrepreneurship Program, which covers essential aspects of the Entrepreneurial Journey.
