Program Coordinator – Occupation-Specific Language and Skills Training for Early Childhood Assistants

Employment Terms: contract | part Time

Job Summary:

We are looking for a client-oriented individual with solid analytical, project management, communication, organization and teamwork skills to coordinate the activities of the project. This position will be accountable for coordinating the research, development, testing and evaluation of the training.  This includes day-to-day operations of research and data collection activities, coordinating staff and resources, planning and performing project activities, ongoing engagement and communication with external partners, overseeing the development and delivery of the program curriculum, and conducting the program reporting and evaluation.

The Program Coordinator will work with a dedicated team of professionals who are highly committed to our community and who support employment and settlement needs, develop employer and community partnerships, and are all strong leaders in their fields of expertise. 

This is a part-time (17.5 hours per week), fixed term contract until March 31, 2022

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support curriculum development through engagement of employer partners to confirm skill gaps
  • Leads research and data collection activities including conducting surveys and analysing data
  • Prepares research reports, communication tools and presentations to share findings with project team, participants, partners and other stakeholders
  • Maintains on-going communication with program participants, partners, funders, and other stakeholders
  • Represents the project team and shares information about the project in different platforms
  • Supports the Curriculum Developer and Language Instructor in the development of the curriculum
  • Collaborates with the project team and other LEF staff to develop intake protocols and client progress documentation processes and oversees their implementation
  • Leads participant marketing and outreach activities
  • Develop and administer evaluations to gain feedback from students, guest speakers, employers, etc.
  • Analyse feedback from evaluations and determine appropriate recommendations for improvement
  • Presents results through reports, presentations and other platforms
  • Participates in the analysis of evaluation findings and preparation of the final report
  • Ongoing collaboration with internal departments for various aspects of development
  • Promotes and reinforces the Occupational Health & Safety Policy Statement

Other Responsibilities:

  • Project coordination as required
  • Sharing professional experiences and knowledge, and providing feedback to improve individual and team performance
  • Working with other LEF staff to ensure that clients have the appropriate engagements/ interventions, and support the outcomes of language, skills training, labour market and settlement objectives
  • Attending staff and team meetings and participate in extra-curricular activities that further integrate LEF services and other activities
  • Ensuring record-keeping is performed including reports as required
  • Required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends as per organizational needs

Job Qualifications:

  • Related University Degree
  • Knowledge of the childcare sector
  • Experience with language or skills training programs considered an asset
  • Knowledge of online learning platforms considered an asset
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Excellent organizational skills relating to planning and record-keeping
  • A self-motivated leader with excellent relationship building/customer service focused skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new technology
  • Highly developed writing, editing, presenting and facilitating skills
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills
  • Prior experience with project evaluation
  • Solid outreach, promotion and marketing skills
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and interdisciplinary approach to solving complex problems
  • Capacity to identify and articulate potential problems and provide possible solutions in a concise and clear manner
  • Home office set up (desk, chair, printer/copier/scanner) or an area where a home office can be set up is required as some of the role will require working from home
  • Multi-cultural sensitivity and demonstrated success in working with adults of diverse cultural backgrounds, in a multi-cultural/multi-racial environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
