Reports to: Senior Manager Facilities
Job Summary:
The Facilities Team lead is an energetic, knowledgeable and customer service-oriented person. This role requires you to possess building systems and maintenance skills, strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Manager Facilities and work closely with Manager of Events and Facilities to support a small team of maintenance staff, building positive relations with clients, partners and tenants.
Salary Annually Range: $55,500 to $59,600
Job Duties:
Support the ongoing, smooth and safe operations of our properties by ensuring our mechanical resources are in good working order, our physical spaces/buildings are maintained and inspected, and compliant with current regulations.
Ensure tenants and employees receive timely support and responses to requests.
Perform routine internal and external building maintenance duties such as painting, minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs, as well as heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
Oversee a small maintenance and cleaning team, including hiring, scheduling, and performance oversight.
Perform basic administrative duties, such as filling out forms, managing invoices, keeping accurate records of space conditions.
Troubleshoot, repair, or recommend repairs in the facility, report maintenance statuses to the Sr. Manager.
Provide support and direction as needed to third party contractors performing work on our facilities.
Maintain ongoing support for tenants and employees of LEF regarding requests and work orders.
Resolve minor complaints within the scope of the role and refers larger issues to the Manager.
Keep an up-to-date inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment.
Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs, as well as being available on call for emergency maintenance issues for all property’s weeknights and weekends.
Collaboratively perform duties to set up for special events, moving equipment and supplies as required and assisting with the security of the facilities.
Drive the LEF truck when required and ensure regular maintenance of the vehicle.
Ensure workers’ health and safety, identify hazards, training needs, and address health and safety concerns brought forward by workers to ensure workers' protection.
Other related duties as assigned.
Work in compliance with all LEF health and safety policies and procedures
Participate in promoting the Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement
Participate in health and Safety education and training

Qualifications and Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience in facility maintenance work, specifically with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, small building repairs and general cleaning; requires a high school diploma or equivalency
2 to 3 years leading a maintenance/cleaning crew and supporting their day-to-day work
Experience performing administrative duties such as invoicing
Valid Ontario Drivers’ License and is currently insured
Basic skills in Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel and MS Teams
Prior customer service experience dealing with customers in person and online
Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills with an ability to establish rapport. Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, flexibility and adaptability when handling unpredictable situations; and loves to solve problems
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple requests/projects
An ability to exercise good judgement, tact and maintain confidentiality
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to lift heavy objects such as office furniture
Desire for learning and ongoing professional development
