Job Summary:
The shop assistant role will be day- to- day bicycle shop related duties. Helping with customer service and participating in inventory control of products that need to be cleaned and stored.
Reports to: BAM Manager, Darren Duke
Hourly Rate: $17.60
Overall Responsibilities:
Working alongside senior mechanic learning the practical and theory of bike repairs
General cleaning of shop space
General tune-ups "cleaning and quick adjustments"
Customer interaction. Phone messages and customer inquiries
Sorting of recyclables / metal parts
Assisting in Community bike events
Keeping an organized work area.
Ship and receiving of bike donations
Qualifications and Experience:
Passion for bike riding and repair
Willing to learn and retain information
Computer skills
Mechanically Inclined" Has worked with tools in general"
Being organized in your work area.
Good communication skills
Being reliable, responsible and committed to your work
Being patient , honest and compassionate towards others in the shop space.
Being available Monday to Friday 9am-3pm
Ability to lift 30-50lbs.
