Job Summary:

The shop assistant role will be day- to- day bicycle shop related duties. Helping with customer service and participating in inventory control of products that need to be cleaned and stored.

 

Reports to: BAM Manager, Darren Duke

Hourly Rate: $17.60

 

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside senior mechanic learning the practical and theory of bike repairs

  • General cleaning of shop space

  • General tune-ups "cleaning and quick adjustments"

  • Customer interaction. Phone messages and customer inquiries

  • Sorting of recyclables / metal parts

  • Assisting in Community bike events

  • Keeping an organized work area.

  • Ship and receiving of bike donations

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Passion for bike riding and repair

  • Willing to learn and retain information

  • Computer skills

  • Mechanically Inclined" Has worked with tools in general"

  • Being organized in your work area.

  • Good communication skills

  • Being reliable, responsible and committed to your work

  • Being patient , honest and compassionate towards others in the shop space.

  • Being available Monday to Friday 9am-3pm

  • Ability to lift 30-50lbs.
