The Learning Enrichment Foundation

LEF Food Services prepares more than 600 meals for LEF childcare centres and with the help of Second Harvest, another 500 meals for homeless shelters every day. In addition, our on-site kitchen offers nutritious and affordable meals for staff and clients through a fee-for-service cafeteria and a catering service.

As well this enterprise provides training opportunities for youth.

The Learning Enrichment Foundation has long recognized the importance of quality child care in early childhood education and as an essential support to families.

Hence, LEF has been involved in the delivery of quality childcare for over a quarter of a century.

Currently, LEF operates 18 licensed childcare centres and 16 before and after care programs. These programs provide a safe and nurturing environment for over one thousand children every day. In addition, LEF provides consultation services to both the private and non-profit sector of the child care community.

The LEFOnline CAP Network is funded by Industry Canada's Community Access Program (CAP). Our network of sites operates in partnership with community groups and libraries across Toronto, Ottawa and the surrounding areas to connect Canadians to “The Information Highway”.

The LEFOnline CAP Network endeavors to narrow the 'Digital Divide' by setting up small venues in communities where the rates of unemployment are higher and the need for access to the Internet is acute.
